Senior portraits can be taken whenever you’re ready! But, if you’re looking to have pictures ready for a graduation announcement or party I suggest booking 1-2 months before your high school senior’s graduation day. I have however had many clients who have booked a senior portrait session well after their child’s graduation day.
Senior portraits are one of my favorite types of photos to take! I love it when my seniors are able to express themselves during my portrait sessions. I encourage my clients to bring along props that define the last couple years of their lives. Musical instruments, letterman jackets, sports equipment, books, cap and gowns, uniforms or any other items in their lives. The list of great senior portrait props is endless!
Normally for senior portrait sessions I set aside about an hour to complete the entire session. The time can definitely fluctuate depending on the number of outfits your senior wants to wear and the number of locations we decide to shoot at. Under most circumstances you’ll be looking at about an hour.
My goal is to have all of the portrait session images posted to a private online gallery within 24 hours. You’ll then select the images that you would like to have and then I will take your selected images and begin the editing process. The portrait editing process normally takes me about two weeks. At that point I will have a disk of your edited senior portrait photos ready for you to pick up. I can also ship the images to you via mail for an additional fee.
